Woo Hoo! It’s up and running, though it’ll still need some tweaking. Visit the new EARTHTONES PHOTOGRAPHY blog. I won’t say much more since that would delay you getting there.
There’s not much to see yet, but that is where the Earthtones news and specials will be found from here on out. In case you need the entire url: www.earthtonescustomphotos.com/skblog
Yup, it’s living on my own server now so if you just remember the website url and add /skblog you’ll have it.

The Muskegon downtown area is the perfect host for Steel Horse Alley and this event. Today marked the end of the second annual Bike Time. Here’s some snapshots of a few little things I found interesting. I haven’t gone through all of my snapshots or photos yet. I have some stunt shots but they’re not released like last years were. If I find any that I can post when I process them, I’ll post em here. That’s a big “if”.

It’s not Christmas time yet but I’m starting to prepare. The photography business can get busy during the Thanksgiving/Christmas season so I’ve started putting together my custom made Christmas photo card packages. These are 5X7 cards with a Christmas greeting & a photo (on some cards more then one photo) from your session. Each design comes in a pack of 25 cards. Keep an eye on the website as I add more custom made cards. You might find something just right. It’s a good idea to book your fall/winter sessions early for Christmas photos or other fall/winter events. If you wait until fall it will be harder to find an opening in the appointment book.
One thing I’ve personally changed about my family’s Christmas is the retail thing. No more going on a retail buying frenzy. That’s not my idea of what Christmas is about. Instead, now we have a much more toned down, quieter Christmas season and I don’t miss the old way of doing things at all.
Here are a couple samples of some Christmas cards I’ll be offering. They’ll look great with photos of your family/kids/loved ones. These and other custom cards will soon be on display on the website. Just visit www.earthtonescustomphotos.com to watch for them.

AH…summer. Lazy days, hanging at the beach with friends, there’s nothing like it. I hope you all are having the best summer ever and that it only gets better every year.
You’ll need to pick up the pace to grab your freebie, though. There’s a deadline and a few simple steps you need to take to get those free 411 cards. Check out the instructions below and I’ll see you on My Space.
2009 SENIORS! Visit Earthtones “My Space” blog to see the July senior special with the 50 FREE 411 CARDS. You may combine that with the 30% off session special. Check out our new “My Space” main page. (Still under construction) If you have a “My Space” account click on over and request an add so you can keep track of what’s going on at Earthtones. If you don’t have an account, you could go on over and create one. They’re free. We run some very hot deals every now and then but you have to watch for them, or you’ll miss out. If your added on Earthtones “My Space” you won’t miss a thing. If you’re a client and you or your parents sign a model release maybe you’ll even end up on our My Space page. You can find Earthtones Photography on Facebook, too. But I’m still trying to figure Facebook out…duh! So forgive me if I’m all thumbs over there.

I’m working on upgrading my website to a fresh, new look and I’m planning to add a gallery for Earthtones Artography Maternity and Newborns. This is a new area for me but so far it’s going well. I like to let all of my potential clients know that Earthtones is not a typical photography service. I have a style of my own that may or may not be for you. I am a lifestyle photographer and I think of my work as a combination of capturing and freezing expressive moments and making that image into my own style of art. Sometimes the image alone is art itself. Other times I add special effects to enhance an image. I always include a private, full screen gallery online so you can look through your own images to choose your favorites.
If you’re looking for traditional studio portraits I do recommend you look at some other photographers. But if you’ve visited the Earthtones Photography website and enjoyed the work you saw, give me a call and we’ll talk about what kind of production we can create. It’ll be fun! And the pricing is similar.
Earthtones now offers some great 5X7 newborn announcements and a baby album for a girl or a boy. Samples to come.
Call in July to schedule any type of on location session for 30% off the regular $50 session fee. Sessions last about 2 hours. Check the website for our new pricing structure. I have changed the packages so you may order whatever standard size you want. I have a stair step discount system that I hope you’ll find more simple to work with. It gives my clients more freedom in their orders. Still cash or checks right now but we’ll be accepting credit card payments via Paypal soon.
Update: As of July 8 we are now accepting credit card payments via Paypal on the website. You’ll now be able to order your prints and pay for them directly from the website with your credit card. Of course you’ll still have the option of in person or phone ordering. This is just another way for us to try and make it easier and more convenient for todays busy lifestyle.

We were expecting it to happen and we were right, it did. Our competition broke out the 411 cards not long after the first time we advertised in print media. I did a lot of research in the West Michigan area and no one at all that I found was offering 411 cards until AFTER I ran my first print ad. Now lo and behold, some other area photographers have copied Earthtones Photography and are also offering the 411 cards. I consider that to be a huge compliment. You know what they say about imitation being the highest form of flattery. Just for fun, I’ll keep the next new product a secret and share it only with my clients for awhile . You can watch what happens after I first publicly advertise it. (wink, smile)
In the spirit of friendly competition, Earthtones Photography is offering a 50 pack of 411 cards for free if you get your Senior session in my appointment book on or before July 11, 2008. Good for the months of June and July 2008 with a minimum print order. Session fee’s only apply to July because all June Senior sessions are free. (Scroll down a ways to see previous discounts.)

It’s not officially summer until June 21 but the weatherman is saying West Michigan temps might be hovering around the 90 degree mark soon. Great excuse to head to our beautiful, unique beaches.

2009 Seniors and parents! Time is running out and the schedule is filling up. Don’t miss out on those free sessions. A deal like that doesn’t come around often. See details below.

Lifestyle * Seniors * Couples * Weddings * Newborns * Children
Lowell & West Michigan Area Seniors
Earthtones Photography is running this awesome special in order to begin building a reputation and a portfolio in the West Michigan area. It is my goal to give you a top notch product and great customer service. Keep an eye on this blog for ongoing special prices as I build.
I offer a 10X10 Senior album, just added a 5X7 mini album, Storyboards, and the very popular 411 cards. The 411 cards are business card size and double sided. Scroll down for some samples and more information on the 411 cards. Along with those specialty items for seniors I offer standard print size’s, including the favored wallet size.
Free Senior Photo Session Details
This is a first come, first serve deal so you won’t want to delay on booking your June senior photo session. If you book your appointment before my June schedule is filled you will get a free photo session up to two hours in the location(s) of your choice, with as many clothing changes as you can fit into a two hour session. My advice would be to limit the clothing changes to three in order to maintain enough quality shooting time. But the choice is yours. After all, this is your session. Your images will be placed in a private, password protected, online photo gallery for you to view within 14 days of your session. All orders will be professionally printed on Kodak Professional Endura Paper. I’m offering an additional discount on orders from the free June sessions. Call it a kind of Grand Opening sale. You’ll get a 30% discount on your total order. (Order minimum of $80 applies) If you order before July you’ll also have the option to purchase a 50 pack of the wildly popular, double sided, 411 cards for $25.
Check out our website or call for more information. If you’re using a dial up connection and are having trouble viewing the website you can view a small sampling of my work here. And thanks for visiting my blog. I hope I can serve you soon.
